"No Bullshit" live is an Instagram livestream and now concert series created by Lansing, MI native Matteo Eyia and Los Angeles native Allison Iraheta. What started as a way to reach out to people in different parts of the world and hear their stories, struggles and accomplishments, turned into an online family and support group. A way for people to escape the monotony of lockdown and connect with others around the world, laugh and share stories and have an occasional drink. Allison and Matteo would have conversations with friends as well as complete strangers about life in their part of the world, their work and how they had been affected by COVID. They would also share stories about their experiences in the music industry, life in Los Angeles vs life in Lansing and the occasional nonsensical rant about life, love, lockdown and the social shifts that were ever apparent in 2020. All while inviting anybody and everybody who cared or had some free time to listen or watch and, if they so chose, to chime in.

Allison and Matteo, being lifelong musicians, definitely felt a pull through the pandemic once government restrictions shut down the whole music industry and any possibility of work. For both of them, this created a void both musically and socially. After a few months of weekly livestreams, the streams began evolving into short little performances while still incorporating the original idea and intention, those performances have now evolved into the NoBS Concert Series. Unlike your typical concert, they allow people to interact online via chat and in person at the shows. Essentially they rotate playing short sets of music with short periods of audience involvement, communication and Q+A sessions for about two hours. They play songs that define their musicianship, relationship with processing the pandemic, requests from fans and originals written during the lockdown. They streamed the first show of the NoBS Concert Series from Lansing's Urban Beat with virtual special guest and also Lansing native Brian Stead, lifelong friend and colleague of Matteo.

Matteo and Allison met through a community of friends and colleagues in Los Angeles around 2014. They worked together in many different capacities including studio sessions, shows around LA and a tour of the US with a band called Halo Circus. Matteo was a touring/session musician for well over a decade in LA and worked with a number of artists from American Idol and the Voice. He was a member of a few successful independent bands that did tours, shows and played festivals with musicians such as Lord Huron, the Black Keys, MGMT, The Neighbourhood and Grouplove. He was also lucky enough to do some work with artists such as Anderson Paak.

Allison was a top-five finalist on season 8 of American Idol after winning a similar Hispanic show called “Quinceanera”. She has toured and worked with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert, Nine Inch Nails, Ariana Grande, and Jennifer Lopez. She has also done some very notable gigs such as singing in the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2020 with JLo and Shakira and a Neil Diamond tribute called “Keep Memory Alive" in Las Vegas where she sang with Neil Diamond, Chris Isaak, Billy Ray Cyrus and Sammy Hagar.

The second show in the NoBS Concert Series will also be held at Urban Beat, this time with the pandemic restrictions lifted surrounded by friends and family. It will happen live on July 3rd at 8pm ET with virtual special guests American Idol finalist Megan Joy and founding member of the band The Used, Quinn Allman.
